Phrasal verb GET   

Let’s look up the word get. 

Ask to inquiry, to find out, to ask. 

When you have a question you ask to find out the answer. Today we are going to check out phrasal verbs with ask. 

Ask in means to invite someone into your house

Example: 

It was raining so she asked me in. 

Ask over means to invite someone to your house.

The difference between ask in and ask over is that ask in is more immediate at the moment you invite someone to come in into your house. While come over is an invitation to someone who is not necessarily near your house.

Example:

I was so bored so I asked over a couple of friends for drinks. This means you invited a couple of friends to come to your house.

Ask about means to see how someone is doing. 

For example, if someone is sick you can ask about how they are doing or if they are sick. 

Example:

Call your mother. She keeps asking about you.

Ask out means to invite someone to go out with you somewhere. 

She asked me out to a new Italian restaurant.

Ask back to ask someone to return to a place 

Example:

I hope they ask me back after the first interview.

Example:

The members of the jury asked me back to perform again.

Ask around means to ask many people for information or help.

Example: If you don’t know how to get there just ask around. Everyone knows the place.
